Amusah Gbadamosi is a former Ghanaian professional footballer. He started his professional football career within the surrounding of Bimbilla in the Northern Region of Ghana in the early 1960's.
With his desire to succeed as a professional footballer, he proceeded to Tamale and played with some few colts clubs and later moved to the capital of Ghana and played for Accra Hearts of Oak. Amusa Gbadamosi was part of the Accra Hearts of Oak team that played against Brazilian club FC Santos at the Accra Sports stadium in 1969. This forms part of the historian documents of the Phobians as they held Santos to a 2-2 drawn game. Brazilian Pele was with the Santos team by then. Amusah scored the opener in that game and presented a smock to Brazilian Pele after the match. That is the picture shown below. He later joined Accra Hearts of Oak bitter rivals Kumasi Asante Kotoko.
Amusah Gbadamosi played for the senior national team between 1964-76 and was also a member of Ghana’s 1965 African Cup of Nations winning squad. After stints in Nigeria, he joined the Black Stars to participate in the 1968 Olympics in Mexico. He was adjudged as the most outstanding player in the 1968 Olympics games in Mexico.
After retirement, Amusah Gbadamosi returned to his hometown, Bimbilla after he believed he has served his nation very well. Even though financially, he had accrued nothing but Amusah believes service to mother Ghana was his pride. He has been battling with his health for sometimes now and currently has serious challenges with his sight.
