WE WILL CONTINUE TO REWARD HARD WORK,GOV ABIODUN ASSURES OGUN CIVIL SERVANTS

For effective service delivery,the Ogun State government says it will continue to reward discipline, hard work and excellence in the state civil and public service.


Governor Dapo Abiodun stated this at the End of the Year 2023 Thanksgiving and Award of Excellence put together by the State Ministry of Environment and her allied agencies - Ogun State Environmental Protection Agency -OGEPA and the Ogun State Waste Management Authority OGWAMA at the Valley View Auditorium, Government House,Isale Igbein, Abeokuta.


Represented by the Head of Service,Mr Kolawole Peter Fagbohun, Governor Abiodun said it is by so doing that the state government will encourage effective healthy competition among its workforce which will impact on  their performances and invariably on the state's growth and development.



While praising the civil and public servants for their contribution to the continuous success of the state government's ISEYA mantra,he urged them not to rest on their laurels as the government is ever determined to continually spread dividend of democracy to all the nooks and crannies of the state.

Governor Abiodun also used the opportunity to reiterates government determination to always priorities workers welfare which can be attested to by the monthly palliative allowance to cushion the effects of removal of fuel subsidy and global economic meltdown, payment of peculiar allowances and the recently paid End of the Year Special Bonus to all categories of its workforce.

These allowances he said were effected without any labour unrest in the state which confirmed that the present administration is worker- friendly, pledging to always encourage them to always be the best they can be in the service through in-service training, upgrading and promotions.

Speaking earlier,the Commissioner for Environment,Mr Ola Oresanya said the Thanksgiving and Award of Excellence which is in its second year is to thank the Almighty for preserving the lives of members of the Environment Family throughout the outgoing year despite numerous challenges while the award is  meant to reward deserving staff for their performances which has rubbed off on the Environment sector,leading to Ogun State been recognized as one of cleanest states in Nigeria.

Oresanya therefore called on the entire staff in the sector to redouble their efforts so that more successes would be achieved in 2024.

The highlight of the event is the presentation of Award of Excellence to three deserving individuals. They are Mr Olabamiji Akorede from the Ministry of Environment,Mrs Esther Kehinde Adeyanju from Ogun State Environmental Protection Agency and Mr Ibrahim Yusuf from Ogun State Waste Management Authority. Aside from certificates of awards, they were all given cash rewards as well as personal cash award by the Head of Service who represented the Governor while one of them,Mr lbrahim Yusuf- a temporary staff was given an automatic employment by the state government.
