Boxers who participated at the Ogun State Boxing Hall of Fame tourney have been assured of the technical support to sharpen their skills to become future champions .
The assurance was given by the coordinator of Boxing Hall of Fame, David Mohammed during the Ogun Boxing Hall of Fame tourney held at Alake sports center, Ijeja in Abeokuta.
His words : " We are trying to involve on the technical side to check quality of boxers, to check the level of boxing because Boxing Hall of Fame wants a high level of boxing. So we are involving on technicality because we have talented boxers Ogun State that can be nutured to stardom . "--- he stated.
David Mohammed said it was good to organize the boxing tourney , watching young boys and girls exhibiting raw with great potentials .

He emphasised that there are raw talents waiting to be discovered at the grassroots, therefore, " They need to be supported, we need to keep developing them. The boxers are doing their best, show casing their talents and we are really impressed and excited with what we saw." ---- he concluded.
Speaking after the tourney, Solanke Oladimeji of Efele BC who won 72kg male category, expressed his joy , " I feel so good because I have been working hard in preparing for this tourney."
" I'm a furniture carpenter by profession. I was discovered by Kazeem Alapako who introduced me to boxing and ever since I started boxing in 2018 , I have represented Ogun State in the National Sports Festival in 2020 in Edo State but unfortunately, I lost in the quarter final stage. Also, in 2021 , I represented Ogun State in a championship in Kaduna State where I won bronze medal."
Solanke continued, " 2023, I represented Ogun State in All Games Festival in Delta State but I lost in the quarter final stage."
" Next National Sports Festival will be staged in Ogun State and In Sha Allahu I will win gold for the Gateway State."---- he assured.
Solanke Oladimeji, however, expressed his gratitude to the organizer of the Ogun Boxing Hall of Fame for the opportunity given to show case their talents during the tourney.
The first encounter was 44 kg male between Quayum Adeniran of Emirate B C and Sulaimon Onabanjo of Supreme B C which Sulaimon Onabanjo emerge winner 5 - 0 unanimous.
The following 52 kg male encounter. Ayomide Akinsanya of Face 1 B C beat Ibrahim Gafaru of Onipapa B C by 5-0 unanimous.
In the female, 46 kg Serah Adepoju of 3/6 B C defeat Oluwaseun Bankole of De-Sheld B C on technical ground.
65 kg male, Kehinde Oloyede of Champion B C defeat Opemipo Olukoya of Bone Crusher B C 3-2 in a split decision.
Solanke Oladimeji of Efele B C crushed Tajudeen Kasali of Onifade B C 5-0 unanimous. 72 kg male.
Also in the 60 kg male Qudus Adebayo of State B C defeated Rasaq Taiwo of Swagar B C 2-1 in a split decision.
Oyeneye Mistura of Voltron B C lost to Damilola Sobayo of Face 1 B C 5-1 65 kg split decision.
Lastly Ayobami Kasali of Face 1 B C defeated Ismail Oladimeji of Ibafo in 57 kg male fight 4-1in a split decision .
