Value Jet/SWAN Security Cup Gets Kick Off Date

It will be a battle of two border neighbours as Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), battle Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS), in match day one of the 3rd Value Jet/SWAN Security and Safety


At the draws held on Friday at the SWAN Secretariat, in Abeokuta the defending Champion, Nigeria Customs service will also tackle Amotekun and the Nigeria Correctional Centre in group A of the competition slated for between, 4th October and 27th October, 2023.


Group B comprises, the first runners up in the two editions of the competition, Nigeria Police, So Safe Corps, Department of State Security, DSS, and Fire Service while the debutant, Forestry Guards will be up against Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, and  Ogun State Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Corps in group C.


The SWAN Chairman, Mr Michael Azeez Ogunsiji explained that the competition was organised to further cement existing relationships among various security agencies in the state.


Mr Ogunsiji announced that the 3rd edition of the competition being sponsored by Value Jet airline will kick off on Wednesday, 4th October, 2023 at the main bowl of MKO stadium, kuto, Abeokuta by 10am



He appealed to the participating teams to play the game in consonance with the laid down rules and regulations.


The SWAN Chairman commended the efforts of the screening committee headed by Assistant Comptroller of Immigration, Adeyemi Morafa to ensure the purpose of organising the competition for officers of security agencies is achieved.


Also, the Match commissioner and assessor, Mr Musibau Bamgboye, who solicited the support of the teams promised to give the competition the best referee.





In the separate contributions, a veteran Journalist, elder Dada Olanipekun, the chairman, Consolidated chapel, Mr Olusegun Olukoga and the Treasurer of Correspondent chapel, Mr Hakeem Adegbenro promised to ensure that the competition enjoyed the best of media coverage.


The draw had representative of Ogun state FA chairman, Alhaji Ganiyu Majekodunmi, participating teams representatives and NAWOJ executive members in attendance.
