EWEKORO COUNCIL BOSS, HON ADESINA SYMPATHIZES WITH RAINSTORM VICTIMS .........promises government intervention for the Egbado Ajegunle rainstorm victims

Rain, is often used to represent God's blessings, gift of nature  but for the people of Egbado Ajegunle community in Ewekoro Local Government Area of Ogun State, reverse was the case, as the torrential downpour that occurred on Monday,1st of May,2023, rendered many residents of the community homeless and helpless.


Speaking during an on-the-spot assessment of the level of destruction,the Executive Chairman, Ewekoro Local Government, Hon Adesina Sikiru Adisa, expressed his sympathy for the residents , particularly, to a family that lost one of their family members, popularly known as Iya Ibeju, describing the incident as very devastating.


The council boss, assured the people of government intervention in bringing succor to the affected victims of the unfortunate incident.


His words: "It is very saddened and unfortunate, the level of damage is colossal and we need to act fast , though local government can not do it alone but we will partner with the state government through the National Emergency Management Agency to come to our aid in providing necessary assistance for our people."------the Chairman explained.


The Olu of Egbado, Oba Joshua Akinlolu Oniyitan, expressed shock to the extent of damage. The monarch , therefore, appealed to the government to assist the community to restore normalcy.


Oba Joshua Akinlolu Oniyitan, also, called on the sons and daughters of Egbado Ajegunle in the diaspora to come home and render assistance to their kinsmen at this crucial and trying period.


Meanwhile, the council's helmsman, Hon Adesina had immediately arranged for the first aid treatment for the victims who sustained various degrees of injury during the rainstorm.


The rainstorm that took people by surprise, wreaked serious havoc , destroying the roofs of many residential buildings, rendering many people homeless and helpless.


Similarly, the torrential downpour did not spare some electricity facilities, thereby subjecting residents to total blackout.
