The much awaited football tournament organised in honour of the Governor of Ogun State,Prince Dapo Abiodun tagged Dapo Abiodun Cup is set to kicks-off on the 16th of September,2022 at the MKO Abiola Stadium,Abeokuta
The competition was earlier scheduled to start in the first Week of September but was extended for a week to allow the teams prepare much more well to get themselves in competitive mood and also for the Organisers to get the necessary logistics in place for a hitch-free tournament
In a chat with the Facilitator of the Program who is also the Chairman of All Progressives Congress,Abeokuta South Local Government,Honourable Henry Adetunji Fagbenro a.k.a Agbomola,he disclosed that the opening ceremony is going to include a parade of all the participating teams from the fifteen Wards of the LGA.
Honourable Fagbenro revealed that eminent personalities from the Local Government and the State would be decorated as Patrons,Grand Patrons and Ambassadors of the game
The opening match of the day would be between Ward 3 and Ward 7 at 10am while Ward 14 and Ward 10 trade tackles in the second match at 12 O' Clock in the afternoon.There will be two other matches on the opening day
Meanwhile,the final match comes up on the 25th of September,where the Governor is expected to grace the occasion.
