The Ogun State Football Association, on Friday, 19th July 2024, inaugurated a 17-man committee to oversee youth football affairs in the state.
After being inaugurated at the MKO Abiola stadium, Abeokuta, the committee swung to action immediately and held its inaugural meeting, where issues on Youth Football development were extensively discussed.
The Chairman Ogun State Football Association, Alhaji Ganiyu Majekodunmi who is also the Chairman of the committee, said that it was pertinent to have a functional committee take charge, in order to further solidify what the Association has commenced.
He added that "This is a call to service, we all know that this is not a money making Association or committee, so we have painstakingly identified those of us that can be of assistance in ensuring that our youth football calendar is strictly adhered to.
"In your various zones, regions and base, use your position and connection to project and assist the committee, and the association at large in order for us to achieve this goal".
Alhaji Majekodunmi who is also an Executive Board Member of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), charged the committee to work assiduously in ensuring that talents are discovered in every part of the state, and also monitored and nurtured to stardom.
Alhaji Ganiyu Majekodunmi is the Chairman of the committee, while coach Femi Bamgboye will serve as Vice Chairman, Dr. Bayo Oluwatoki, Coach Victor Agbagu, Mr. Omotunde Adamson, Mr. Oseni Oluwasegun and Prince Adeniyi Adeyinka are members of the committee.
Other members are Alhaji Hammed Adebayo, Mr. Dauda Ibrahim, Mr. Michael Onikute, Mrs. Agbabiaka Sekinat Mojisola, Engr. Ayodeji Sodrudeen, Mr. Ibrahim Nasiru, Mrs. Olanike Titilayo Lawal, and Mr.Nofiu Abimbola.
Mr. Adeleke John will serve as secretary of the committee, while Mr. Michael-Azeez Ogunsiji is the Media Officer.
